BLACCINE.

I released the first edition of BLACCINE in 2016 as a self-care zine for Black activists and allies. Since then, the zine has taken different shapes, but the creative vision has remained the same.

BLACCINE is an archive, a meditative process, a space for connection, and a celebration of our people.

BLACCINE: JUNETEENTH 2020

The second edition of BLACCINE was released in 2020. Funds raised from selling print versions were donated to MOMCares, an organization that supports local Black mothers during their birthing process.

A MEDITATION ON MUTUAL AID

The third edition of BLACCINE, ‘A Meditation on Mutual Aid,’ was released in November 2022. Funds raised from selling print and digital versions were donated to the Greenmount West Community Center, a local Black women-led organization that provides Black youth, families, and seniors with innovative programming in a safe and communal art space.

ABUNDANT FUTURES FOR GIRLS, FEMMES, AND GENDER-EXPANSIVE YOUTH OF COLOR

In 2022, I, along with 18 of my peers, was selected to join the Future Economy Lab, funded by SecondMuse Capital and Grantmakers for Girls of Color. To co-create, envision, and imagine with a group of girls, femmes, and gender-expansive youth from across the country was a truly phenomenal opportunity. This zine serves to document and archive our collective vision.
